thank god it's friday!

i'd also like to take a moment to thank god for stretch denim. silence.

thank you.

tonite, while looking for a pair of jeans (that fit) i got a little depressed. i'm pretty damn big right now. not like moo-cow big but big enough not to look really cute in really cute stuff. i moved over to skirts and even those are now starting to show the hips. as previously discussed, i am taking measures to get down to normal weight again. i don't actually think i was ever at a normal weight. at least in my mind. summer of '95 i was 142 and wore a size 9. i thot i was fat. in my mind, i was fat. that's what i get for hangin' out with skinny bitches. of course, they never made me feel that way but they were all able to share clothes and i had to buy all my own stuff. *wink*

i know i didn't put all this weight on overnite and i don't expect it to come off that quickly. i can safely say that i've gained at least 30+lbs in the last year and a half. that's gotta go, plus about 30 more. i'm looking forward to it. i'm excited about getting into shape.

back to today being friday. i'm off for the rest of the week to join HM and his partners at a trade show in indianapolis. i'm not sure whether i'm excited about that or not. it's a trade show. i think they go and look at all the stuff that vendors have to offer. i'm pretty sure this is when they pick up all of their christmas stuff. he says it's pretty boring. i figure, why not. i'll check it out and if i find it boring, i have girl weekend for future trade show outings.

but just in case, i'd like to go to the one in the spring. when indy 500 is going on. i think that would be cool! i went to a race once. nascar. it was pretty neat. i got to listen to the drivers talking to the pit and everything!

anyways... signing off for the week. have a great weekend! see ya on monday.

1. i like walking barefoot but my floors aren't generally clean enough to do this... goes back to that good cleaning thing from my first "5 things"

2. i'm kind of a movie whore. i'll watch anything... chick flicks, action/adventure, dramas, sci-fi (tho they're not my favorite), foreign films (subtitles do not scare me), comedies, romantic comedies, suspense, horror, documentaries and every B-movie you can think of. yet, i do not claim to be a movie aficionado as some people may think

3. i have a VERY LOW pain tolerance

4. according to the FAB FOUR, i missed my calling as a navigator

5. i like to learn but i don't like school, if that makes any sense

weekend update/recap

it was a fun one...

friday - i went to the movies with S1 and S2. we went to see roll bounce. it's one of those movies that you don't really expect much from but then when you see it, it's got some amusing parts and a really great soundtrack... if you grew up in the 70's that is. the only thing bad about that was that S1 and S2 would NOT.SHUT.UP. they sang EVERY SONG in the movie. even ones they didn't know! we had a good time, tho. it was fun to be out with them even if S2 doesn't know the official rules to shotgun. yes... we had the shotgun showdown after the movie. it was really a location thing (you had to be there) but just picture S2 with her head at the feet of the passenger side and her feet locked in to the head of the seat, in a nose dive position. i would have taken a picture but she was blocking my camera with her boobs! my camera was on the floor of the passenger side because, yes, i am the queen of shotgun. she cheated. we laughed so hard and so long i think we all needed to change panties when we got home. eewww. hey, you know i have bladder issues.

saturday - went walking in the morning. yay me! HM and i went to a car show on the pier. it was pretty weak. it was a pontiac sponsored show so we thot it would be mainly pontiac cars. no. it was alot of different everything. there were about a handful of really nice cars there. all tanks! i don't know how people drove those.

afterwards, we went to get HM some new jeans and me some new walking shoes. mine are shot. i got them when i was training for the honolulu marathon back in '99. the heels were starting to give. actually, the heels gave a while back probably... i just wasn't using them to notice.

took a nap then went to LBP and Dawlett's place. it was their one year anniversary. YAY! we hung out and had a few beers with some team peeps. found our way back home and passed out. well... i passed out.

sunday - gorgeous day. we took the motorcycle to look at a couple of houses. one backed up to a swamp. the other was on a golf course. i'm not clear on how the fence rules work when you're backed up to a golf course. it didn't look like you could have a tall one, tho. we also made our way into an open house. great layout inside. even had the laundry room upstairs. pretty big pool. no yard.

rounded out the nite grilling on the rooftop. salmon, chicken, steak and shrimp en brochette. my man can grill! i was inside making sauce, a side and salad. we had a balsamic vinaigrette sauce (for the salmon) and spinach stuffed mushrooms. HM also made a sour cream lemony based sauce but it was too much for me. it was a recipe i found but i couldn't handle all the sour cream. i can only take it in small doses.

today - came home only to find an apartment with NO FRIKKING POWER!! WTF!?!? yes, i know my payment was late because i used that money for the evacuation. i paid it, however, last week. IN FULL! i had my confirmation at work and telling the operator this, she says, "well, a confirmation won't do you any good if we don't have the payment". WTF IS A CONFIRMATION NUMBER FOR, THEN!?!?? HUH?!?!? TELL ME! thank god i have wonderful friends like nara in my building that will allow me to crash at their place until my SECOND FRIKKIN' payment goes thru. i am so pissed off!

so that's it. basically just like every other weekend you've read about, except for the whole power-going-off-thing. good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

thank you sir may i have another

-chip (kevin bacon's character), animal house

today we went to look at two more houses in the same family friendly neighborhood. i'm pretty much sold on that neighborhood but i'll be damned if there are NO houses for sale there! HM says it's because people don't regularly move during the school year. MOVE people!

so one was a foreclosure. good god, man! i don't know how those people even lived there. ick! big lot but not exactly the best layout. the second was a mediterranean style home. really nice but no yard. actually, all the yard was in the front. why ya want a big ass front yard and no back yard???

we're gonna do a drive by on another one saturday. just kinda check out the neighborhood. his friend, the realtor, has got the Sweet T\HM eye down, now. she knows exactly what we're looking for. she knows how small is too small and that a yard is very important. so until we find THE ONE, she'll keep sending them our way.

baby i'm yours

so i'm at the nail salon, waiting for my pedi. on the coffee table, tons of magazines. cosmo, vogue, people, etc. what do i pick up? parents magazine. parents! WTF?!?!? is my maternal clock clicking? is there such a thing? is it the biological clock or the maternal clock? see! i don't even know! that's how much this subject has just passed my life on by without me ever missing it.

now, it's different. true, i had thot about having children at a very young age. when i was younger, i used to think i wanted a child but no husband. the independent spirit coming out of me already. as i got older, i wanted a husband but no child. even later, i didn't want either. it's not that i didn't want them. i just got used to my life without them.

HM wants kids. he's never made that a secret. up until this point, in my adult life, i've never thot of having them. wait... that's not true. my last serious boyfriend was indecisive about having children, but wanted the option. i thot about it. in the end, i couldn't even give that to him. i don't feel bad about it. it was a different time and i was in a different place. no regrets.

now... i want to give HM the children he so desires. i'm even desiring them myself. i almost can't wait to have kids. i keep imagining them at the park, playing in the swings, playing with the dogs, swimming in the pool. i imagine what they'll look like. i picture two little pudgy redneck boys running around in their overalls, with sweet ass mullets! kidding! boys run in his family, girls in mine. we've got a 50/50 chance. if we have girls, i imagine one would probably look a little bit like princess. strangers think she's my child. they've called her my mini-me. maybe they'll get HM's cute nose. i hope they get his nose. mine's been broken, but even before that, it wasn't anything to be desired.

so here i am. waiting. waiting to get in shape for now. seriously, i don't wanna be a big ass cow when i'm preggers. i've started walking again and i'm making healthier food choices these days. i wanna be able to play with my kids and at the rate i'm going, it won't happen unless i whip my ass into shape. after i feel i'm healthy and of course, after the wedding, we'll start thinking more seriously about kids. until then, i'll just read all about it. this parents magazine thing has happened before.

how weird is it that you would ever hear this coming from me?
tick tock. tick tock. tick tock.

weekend update/recap

friday - pretty exciting. i left work early because we made an appt to see, yet, another house. i met HM and the realtor there. just driving through the neighborhood, i fell in love with the place. so many trees (not good for hurricanes apparently), kids playing outside on every street (that'll get old when i'm running late), a park right across the street and a lake right behind that. it was gorgeous, really. looking in the house... i have to say, it's the best one we've seen yet. it wasn't our DREAM home, but it had pretty much everything we wanted. open kitchen (though not very large), huge yard (room for a pool and garage extension), and NO CLOSETS IN THE BATHROOMS! YAY!! actually, the bathrooms could be bigger. all the bathrooms could be bigger. the closets were a good size, tho. like i said, it wasn't our dream home, but i sure liked it. HM would have liked a game room upstairs with an open staircase, if that makes any sense. all bedrooms were upstairs so game room goes downstairs.

saturday - didn't do much during the day. HM had to work. afterwards, we went to have dinner with the parentals. his parentals. i had to make sure they really don't hate me because of the whole dog fiasco. mamalane asked about the house and wondered about the flood plane. papatom is checking that out for us.
we also got to see HM's nephew. he's walking all on his own now. big strong boy. he's too cute. saturday nite, i think we just watched a few movies.

sunday - brunch with the girls. or as HM put it, my EIGHT HOUR DAY OUT. i really think it was only seven hours. i was having a really good time, tho. seven of us hanging, swapping stories. after brunch, me and LBP went back to sweet cheeks'. then frisky showed up. she's ALWAYS got something to say so then we hung out even longer. talked about relationships, when are we getting married, where are we getting married, having kids, adopting kids, shock of me talking about having kids... you get the gist of it.
i think i got a little ill from brunch, tho. i was getting really hot when nobody else was. i'm way too young to be having hot flashes already. i still didn't feel good monday. stayed home and watched movies. four brothers, bewitched, and lords of war. lords of war, so not what i expected. bewitched, completely lame. four brothers, totally what i expected and really good. i really liked it.

overall, it was a good weekend. we had a really pleasant time. we're enjoying each other's company more and more. the more time i spend with him, the more i can't wait to move in together. but not in his place... way too small for the both of us and all of our stuff. and i don't wanna drive that far to work every morning.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

the fantastic four

i had lunch with the girls today. my girls. well...not so much my girls anymore, but they were at one time. summer of '95. it was the best time ever! or, at least the best time four single girls could have on the island.

hanging out with the girls today was just... funny. my face hurt from laughing. i had forgotten how good lori was at story-telling. she's frikkin' hilarious.

the summer of '95 was the summer we all came together.

addie - the unapproachable one - had just moved back from waco and didn't really know anybody here. we had hung out some, before. so she called me again. she said she wanted to go out. the salary i was on, then, didn't allow me to go out. not even for .75 cent beers on college nite. hell, it didn't even allow me to LIVE on the island, then. as i was the "local", she said as long as i got her in the door, she would buy the drinks. "i'm in!"

lori - chatty cathy - was teaching in austin, i think. being a teacher, she had the summer off so addie invited her to stay for the summer. she never went back. she was basically, addie's laundry bitch. =) i always thot there was something about lori that i didn't like but i could never put my finger on it. i finally figured out that i was just jealous of the time she took away from me with addie. no, i'm not a lesbian. i'm just very possessive and very protective of my friends. for all those ugly thots... sorry lori.

steph - pseudo mom - worked in my office. she was just newly divorced and her only friends consisted of stuffy co-workers. she was nice enough when i had seen her at work functions and being ever the social butterfly, i invited her on an outing.

that outing was steph's introduction to "the group". after that, we were inseperable. we did everything together. you could have probably set your watch to our weekend schedule (and addie's bowel movements):
thursday - must see tv at addie's. that was mostly just me and addie.
friday - toucan's power hour.
saturday morning - nop's at 11:00. cuz you gotta wait til they put the chips out.
saturday nite - vibes. so we could "shake some ass".
sunday morning - nop's. cuz you can never get enough of nop's.

they've all left me and moved to austin. yes, all of them. steph did a stint in cali, but she came back. these are girls i will never forget. girls i "grew" with. i honestly did not know what LIFE was before i met them. they showed me so much. so much as an adult woman. to me, addie was the worldly one. not because she had been everywhere or knew everything, but just because she wasn't afraid to know anything on her own.. if that makes any sense. she had joanne. joanne taught her that she could do these things on her own. i didn't so much have that growing up. these girls were that for me.

yes, we've all moved on. breakups, engagements, marriages, and kids. we've been through it all. not necessarily together (cuz, c'mon...who could have made all of lori's weddings? kidding!) but still in each others thots, i'm sure. i know they've been in mine.

i'm not discounting friends i have now. i have wonderful friends now. new friends i'll never forget... and aren't moving to austin anytime soon. but never will i have the friends like i did from the summer of '95... and i don't wanna. they were enough!

p.s. if you're wondering which one i was... i was the loud one. shocker, i know!

conversations with a 3 year old

shaggy asked his mom if "hannyman" was gonna marry his "gil"friend. when she answered yes. he asks, so do i call him uncle hannyman now?

he's too cute. okay, it doesn't sound as cute in written word, but it really was. it's more of a location thing. you had to hear him.

oh where oh where has my little dog gone

okay, so the dog wasn't mine and she wasn't very little either, but she was gone. last week, during "manic hispanic" days at Handyman's, i thot i would take the boys out to the park. the boys meaning the dogs. okay, so back up. this was not completely my idea. when HM went to work that morning, he said, "why don't you take the boys out to the park today. they're probably getting restless with all the people around". i ask you, what the hell would you think he was talking about? we have no children. we always refer to our dogs as "the boys". i've taken them to the park before. no biggie. what i didn't know is the boys he was referring to, were not our boys but the human boys. he meant take the kids out to the park. the KIDS. he didn't say that. another reason not to jack with me in the morning.

that being said... i was taking "the boys" and three of the kids out to the park. in the truck, i had ringo, roscoe, henry, princess-precious (we were dog-sitting HM's mom's dog), shaggy, the princess, honey bunny and brother in law. on our way to the park, the dogs are happy cuz they know they're going to the park. my boys are happy... i'm talkin' tongues out, drool slobbering, tail waggin' happy. they're going to the park!

so, on the way, in a moving vehicle, princess-precious (yes, that's her real name), jumps out! i freak. i stop. BIL jumps out and goes after her. i turn the truck around and start chasing. princess-precious is not stopping. she's a runner. she goes back two blocks, then over two blocks. she starts sniffing around this one house so i put the truck in park and get out to get her. she takes off again. i get back in the truck and at the 4-way, lose her. i pick up BIL and start back down the street. we go in circles, we go down the last street i saw her on, we go around the whole neighborhood.

time to call for reinforcements. i called HM at work, which i was very reluctant to do. BIL kept telling me to hold off because he knew i'd be in major trouble and he was positive we would find her. HM called E.T. she and billy came out to help look. after about an hour and a half, shaggy was asleep and princess & honey bunny were still keeping their eyes sharp. i called their moms to come get them so i could keep looking. after three hours, there was still no sign of princess-precious. i was bawling. BIL was trying to keep me positive.

E.T. was my saviour. after she helped with the search, she went home to make posters. this woman is all that when it comes to saving animals. she made a bunch of posters and even put them in plastic sheets so the ink wouldn't run. mind you, hurricane rita was on it's way the next day. so, HM and i took one side of the neighborhood. billy at E.T. took the other side. i'd say we hung about 30-40 posters. HM was so good. i knew he was upset with me but he didn't get angry. he only let me know that i would no longer be his mother's favorite. just last week she was telling him that i was her "friend". yes, she said that. with no prompting. he said it just came out of the blue.

back to the story... i lost princess-precious on thursday, storm came on friday, no electricity for half the day saturday and sunday i came home. HM called me sunday evening. he got a call. he told me not to get excited yet but he was on his way to pick up E.T. and they were going to the address given. IT WAS PRINCESS-PRECIOUS!! he said she was so excited. she was wagging her tail all crazy-like.

he said she was a little beat up and needs a trip to the vet. apparently, a woman found her trying to climb her way out of the bayou. she got her out and took her home. her family and princess-precious waited out the storm downtown. i guess they saw the posters when they came home. what kills me is that she found her in a place we had looked numerous times! numerous!

the story has a happy ending. i talked to mamalane yesterday and she said she felt sorry for me that i had to go thru that horrible ordeal. inside, i know she was really saying, "you're a horrible bitch and i never want you around my dog again"! seriously, i could feel it. papatom also said that he was just glad it all had a happy ending. inside, he was saying, "no dog for you! one year!" i told HM about the conversation with his mother. i tried to play it in my favor, without his knowledge. i told him she said she never wanted to see me again and i was never allowed to any family function in the future. i thot he almost bought it. he didn't.

moral of the story: keep your bitches in the backyard. much safer.

home entertainment

click the picture or here to see video of the boys entertaining themselves at HM's store.

hooome sweet hoooomme

-motley crue

so i'm home. i came home to power and no cable. ugh! i just got cable about an hour ago... actually, i just discovered i had cable again. after a day of Wonder Woman episodes (on DVD), i was ready for some CSI re-runs. i'm so glad i won't miss CSI:MIAMI tonite.

i took some pictures of the aftermath around the island. the main thing that saddens most, is the collapse of the wall of YAGA's
click on picture to make it bigger
and the fire at the F.O.E. building, which housed an art gallery and a newly opened bike shop.
click on picture to make it bigger
the F.O.E. building also took along with it, a bail bonds building and an apt that was above it. an apt that a friend of mine lived in. she was in dallas, but she has now lost everything. we're all thankful she wasn't there.

on a lighter note... not to bring up the whole 17 mexicans in one house again, but on one of those days (they all run together, i can't remember) i took the boys to Handyman's store so they could help bring things inside. afterwards, they had two hours to kill while HM ran reports. below, are pictures of how they entertained themselves in this time. i have video, too. it's pretty entertaining itself. i'll have it up as soon as my media server is fixed.

rock you like a hurricane

-the scorpions

hanging out having hurricanes watching the winds. that's what we did during the storm. all with billy's "storm mix". he had a playlist made up of all stormy, rainy, sky is crying songs.

the next day, we got rid of all the mescans! everybody went home. houston didn't get hit hard at all. there were tree limbs in the yard but that's about it. so as soon as the worst of it passed, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers and dogs all went home. i'm still waiting to hear about my place. i don't know if we have power yet. i wanna go home. i wanna check on my place. i wanna see my street!

handyman was without power most of yesterday. it came back on about 5:00. we went to E.T's to hang out and watch movies. after we got back, everybody was so zoinked, us and the dogs, that we all took a nap.

i have to say... with everyone that was here, it was surprisingly calm and in order. everybody did their part and pitched in to keep handyman's place in order. he even remarked that they left it so clean, you wouldn't know they were all here.

update: i just talked to my landlord who's on his way to take the boards off my windows. i also talked to one of my neighbors. WE HAVE POWER! she checked out the building and it looks like only one window was blown out....her storm window. how the hell does a "storm" window get blown out during a storm??? anyways, i'm picking up around handy's and i'm goin' home.

riding the storm out

-reo speedwagon

okay, but i'm not one of the dumbasses still on the island. we're in houston, in a place where the roof will withstand up to 70mph winds... which is what is predicted in this area. anything more than that, you'll see about 15 mescans in the tub. damn them mescans and their big ass families. cuz, you know, it's not just the immediate family. it's brother in laws family and little brothers girlfriend and girlfriends kids and girlfriends kids dog. i dont' mind, really. they're very nice from what i can tell and i really like the brother in law's family. i just hope everyone will have taken showers before we all have to crowd together.

today, they say if you haven't left yet... don't bother. we tried to leave at 4am yesterday morning. it took us an hour to get from one exit to the next. i talked to one woman this morning that said she left at 1am, was on the road for 14 hours and only got 25 miles out. she turned around.

on a different note, Handyman has been sooooo good. he's accepted my whole family, very graciously. even my mother! of course, he wasn't here for most of the time she was. so that was easy. today, he went back to work. i'm not sure they have anything left to sell. they've been crazy busy the last two days. i'm taking the boys up to the store to help him bring all the stuff in. they're getting stir crazy staying in the house anyway, i think. it'll be good for them.

the brother-in-law's went to find ice. they've been gone for quite some time. the bags we got yesterday, of course, have all melted. we've had them in coolers, but it's been pretty hot. the 5 day/90 degree cooler is a crock o'shit.

wish us luck as we ride this whole thing out. i think we'll be okay, as we're not on the "dirty" side of the storm anymore. rita...she's such a dirty girl.

just call my name....and i'll be there

that's my addie. she called me yesterday and told me that HM and i are more than welcome to come to austin, to get away from hurricane bitch.

what she didn't know is that i have two sisters, two nieces, two nephews and a dog that have no where to go. my sister thot she would go to austin and get a room there. what she didn't know is, ACL is this weekend. all rooms are booked!

i was all for staying in houston but now that it's supposed to get up to category 4, i'm thinking i'm gonna go. HM has to stay because of his store. they've been pretty busy today and no doubt will be throughout the storm and immediately afterward.

we're on voluntary evacuation until 6pm tomorrow. after 6pm, freeways will be closed off and you will be forced to go all the way to your "evacuation point". yeah... i wanna go to frikkin' huntsville...? NOT.

i'm packing up now. i've got everything off the walls and covered on the couch. i've got my laptop in hand (obviously), my cell in my bag, my mp3 in my pocket and the guitar by the door (i really need a guitar case). i think i'm gonna take Buddy Christ just for added security. oh yeah, and my St. Christopher necklace (patron of safe travels). yes, i remember that from my catholic upbringing. no, i don't use it just in a time of crisis.

so my sisters, nieces, nephews and dog will be at HM's tomorrow afternoon and we'll take off then. i'll call you when we leave, addie. safe travels to anyone else having to evacuate. if you're planning to ride it out... you're just a dumbass.

rita's a bitch!

i always knew she was, but now it's been proven. i knew she'd come back to haunt us. for those of you who don't know, rita is our EX-director. she was a total hack and everybody hated her. okay, hate is a strong word, but we really really did not like her. at all!

we believe she has somehow, now, harnessed all her bitchiness into the tropical storm that is now out in the gulf. and, as always, causing widespread panic! okay, i won't blame her completely for the panic. hurricane katrina helped with that.

so, hurricane/tropical storm rita is on it's way in. they don't even know where it's going to hit yet. for now, they (hurricane experts) are projecting, somewhere between brownsville and louisiana...!?!?!?!? BETWEEN BROWNSVILLE AND LOUISIANA, PEOPLE! please, get out a map and check the geography on this one. it kinda reminds me of
the jerk, but just the total opposite.

Navin: "Uh, anything in this general area right in here. Anything below the stereo and on this side of the bicentennial glasses. Anything between the ashtrays and the thimble. Anything in this three inches right in here in this area. That includes the Chiclets, but not the erasers."

they don't frikking know! why can't they just say, "we don't know". no. instead they project that it will, perhaps, maybe, there's a 50/50 chance it will hit us. and for that, we must be prepared. they are already calling for a voluntary evacuation, tomorrow. we hear, from a source inside the parks board, they will call for a mandatory evacuation by 5:00pm, wednesday. this is totally gonna jack with my JOURNEY concert on friday.

so here's my list of what i'm taking, if need be:
- the laptop (DUH!)
- sandisk mp3 player & batteries
- guitar
- cell phone

HM has the camera and my
baby boy. other than clothes, i really can't think of anything else i would completely die without. not that there's not anything else... i just can't think of it right now.

weekend update/recap

so, this weekend was pretty busy. not busy in the sense that we ever felt rushed, but busy in the sense that we had something going on all weekend.

friday - i already blogged about. we had dinner, we drank beer, blah blah blah. i worked on fanny pack's resume until after 2 in the morning.

saturday - i finished his cover letter and reference page. finished my laundry... all except for the reds that i left drying.
went to houston and was starving when i got there. HM and i went to this place called Mambo. he and his friends had given it a good review so i wanted to try it out. apparently, the food wasn't as good saturday as it was the last time they went. it was just, "eh".
after Mambo, we took showers and ...

*side note* watching a kit-kat commercial... was this the ONLY gig this girl could get as the American Idol winner?!?!?!?!? geesh

... went to Mia Bellas to see Ryan B (Sir Ryan). he's my buddy. he used to live in town but got too good for us or something so he moved to houston. big whoop. j/k. he's a cool guy. he was one of my bestest buds in town. my drinking buddy. he's alot of fun. we used to run the streets together and cause chaos. kidding, we just ran the streets... no chaos.
we had a good chat with him, shared our good news and drank to celebrate. when i say drank, we DRANK. i love knowing bartenders. our tab was $3.00! i love ryan!

afterwards, we went to the Social. apparently, it was a big draw a couple of years ago. i could understand that. it was a nice looking place, good house music, and it didn't smell. the restrooms even had TOILET PAPER!! saturday, however, not so much of a crowd getter. we had one drink there and we were ready to go home.

sunday - we figured we didn't get enough of Sir Ryan, the bartender... we thot we should visit Sir Ryan, the manager. we went back for brunch. it was ryan's first day as manager. we met sweet cheeks there and had bottomless bloody mary's and some really good food. i had salmon w/cream cheese on a toasted english muffin. HM had this really good crepe w/all kinds of stuff in it. sweet cheeks had some sort of poached eggs, artichokes, hollandaise sauce thing and we all split some french toast.
after brunch, HM and i had narrowed down some houses to look at. why is it that the one house that's always our favorite on paper, turns out to be the worst when we get to it. ugh! from the eight we had narrowed down to, we picked maybe three to go back to. and that's a big maybe. maybe we won't go back. of course, i didn't think we would find our dream home today, but it woulda been nice to see something that WOWED us.
there was one that had a pretty cool backyard. a bit of a drive for both of us. it had a crescent moon pool and a shed in the back, with a garage that HM could build out. all the curtains were closed so we couldn't look into it to see how big the rooms were. it's a pretty old house so updates would be needed. no flooding. that was one that we may go back to. there was another that had a really nice yard and gazebo, but the bedrooms are probably too small and it's too close to main street. same with the third one, big yard but too close to main street. too noisy. we went back to HM's and he was a little depressed. i guess he thot we would fine THE ONE today. we've got plenty of time, tho.

shit. i just looked at the clock and it's already after midnite. i need to get some sleep so i'm signing off now. good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

plenty of fish in the sea

and billy the kid caught alot of them! billy and lil'bit were down for a couple of days and billy went offshore fishing with some work buddies. he caught some snapper and some striped something or other. fanny pack baked and fried it all. damn, that boy can cook. not as good as my handyman, but still good. he adds flair to everything, too.

last nite was really nice and long overdue. me, billy, lil'bit, fanny pack, and pooop got to hang out and chat and enjoy some really good food. we haven't been able to do that for a while. everybody's moving away or splitting up. it's just not the same anymore. now, we actually have to make an effort to see each other. no biggie, but it is kinda harder... and sometimes you just really don't feel like making that effort.

from dinner, i came home and started working on fanny pack's resume. he and sara are moving to florida next month. they're pretty excited and i'm excited for them! it's not every day you get to move to another state and start over, basically. anyways, i was up until 2:30 working on it. i gotta say, it looks damn good! it'll at least get him an interview. wish them luck!

conversations with an eight year old

so we all know that HM and i don't exactly live very close to each other. that being said, we've decided to meet in the middle. it's not exactly making everyone happy.

the princess called me this weekend to congratulate me. here's how the conversation went:

*lots of talk beforehand with the congrats and having an uncle handyman

princess: when are you getting married?

me: i don't know yet. we have to find a place to live first.

princess: are you gonna live in texas city?

me: noooo (trying to be gentle here), i think we're moving to clear lake.

princess: is that closer to me?

me: noooo (still trying to be gentle).

princess: there's lots of houses in texas city!

me: yeah, but... we have to live in the middle.

princess: why can't you live in texas city?

me: well, sweetheart, that's too far for HM to drive to work.

princess: doesn't he own his work?

me: yes.

princess: why can't he own it in texas city?

me: *speechless* well... i'll let you ask him that next time you see him.

baby, be prepared. she ain't lettin' up.

maybe i'm amazed

okay, so we started out the holiday/cruise weekend with Handyman's birthday party. the plan was to have drinks at Handyman's and then go to the go-kart track. we had a blast!! the go-karts were so much fun!! we had about 3 or 4 five minute rides. it was soooo much fun!

albert, hm, dan and et

after go karts we went to some little dive bar and the woman was kind enough to let us in after she had already master locked the gate on the door. i think she probably welcomed the company since all she had in there was some old mexican man who had probably already been there all nite. we took up every seat at the bar. it was really cool, tho. handyman and all his friends. *smile*

the next day we got all our crap together and got to bed early. sunday, we waited until the very last minute to get on the boat. it turns out, it was a good thing we did. there were people that had been in line for 3 1/2 hours because they were there on time.

being on the boat was good. being away from work was great! being with handyman in one room for 6 days without killing each other is amazing!

as you all know by now, handyman and i are engaged! it happened on playa mia beach in cozumel. my poor honey... he had the sweetest most romantic sentiment in mind with the thot he put into his proposal. we were supposed to have an overnite in cozumel and he wanted to book a sunset steak and lobster dinner and propose then. the overnite was cancelled. next, he thot he would do it when we got to the top of the pyramid on the excursion from progreso. that port was cancelled. he couldn't catch a break. by this time, he just put the ring in his pocket and thot he'd just ask when he got the chance. at that point, it was pretty much, "just take the ring". j/k

i honestly don't remember anything he said. all i know is we both had tears in our eyes and then he pulled out the ring. i think i nodded my head and he may have told me that i had to actually SAY yes. duh

newly engaged

there was shopping in cozumel and i got a really cool bracelet and a new thumb ring and we went snorkeling in belize. not much for the shopping in belize... it was actually pretty scary. we had some crippled homeless guy circling us and said he wouldn't touch me but just wanted to kiss my back...!?!?!? WTF!?!? i FREAKED out! at that point, HM said some kids started throwing rocks at him (of course i didn't see cuz i was already bookin' my ass away from him) and some girl asked HM why he didn't kick his ass. HM replied he had no desire to spend time in an international jail cell.

cozumel and belize

the rest of the cruise was kind of a blur. there's only so much you can do on a boat, plus all the shows were pretty gay. they had movies in the room and we had a pretty cool balcony. i could have stayed in the room most of the time. the only reason i ever left at nite was to see what new animal i would get. nice, huh? it looks like the dog on top is ready for a little doggie action...

towel animals

getting back home a day early, we went out to celebrate our engagement. we need to do that more often! hell, we got a free round of drinks everywhere we went! we went to dinner at rudy & paco's and ate some really really REALLY good food. when we brought the leftovers back, handyman took a rest. when he was ready to go, i had already settled in. i know... i'm lame. we still had more "first rounds" to get. we'll try again next time he's in town. i still gotta sport my ring around town.

monday, we just chilled out. we went to see the "infamous k-pooop" and HM went back home. i kinda missed him already.

tuesday, i had to go see my babies. mamalane and papatom were bringing the doggies back and i missed my ringo dog. they were at "summer camp" while we were gone. my baby's getting so BIG. i need to take him for his last round of puppy shots. i think he's maybe a couple of weeks behind on that. maybe i'll try to make him an appt for this weekend. maybe.

i guess i'm done for the nite. i'll have to write again this week about how cool it is to be engaged and your friends already wanna throw parties for you. also, the conversation had between me and the princess. for eight years old, she's pretty damn smart.

ciao for now.

rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby

today we leave for our cruise. today is also Handyman's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY! this morning, i got up and made him heart-shaped chocolate chip pancakes. how good am i? he's also getting a cake before we leave. it's already baked but i gotta put the finishing touches on it...icing, candles, etc.

friday nite, we had his birthday party. we went go-kart riding and had a blast. if you want to see the slideshow, click here. i highly recommend it for anyone turning 36.

we're off. i'll give you all updates in 7-9 days. we're gone for seven and you know how lazy i am when i get back from ANYWHERE!

if you like pina coladas....

you shoulda booked your ass on the cruise we're taking next week. NO, it was not one of the $99 cruises. geez, how many times am i gonna get asked that? handyman booked this cruise a loooong time ago. i'm pretty excited. i've never been on a cruise. i've actually never been all up into mexico either. sure, the border towns, but do those really count?

we're both looking forward to a whole week off from work and getting to just chill and be by ourselves. we're gonna check out the ruins in progreso, do some snorkeling in belize, and have really good time in cozumel! well, as good a time to be had in 8 hours. k, so you know i'm the biggest procrastinator. i'm sitting here, thinking of everything i need to take. looking at everything i need to pack. HM's got a suitcase, 2 hanging bags AND a carry-on already packed. i don't even have all my stuff layed out yet. i just can't ever get motivated to do things early. i know i'll be packing everything at the last minute on saturday. which is even more crazy to think about because we have a party to go to that nite. hopefully, i'll get back home early enough saturday to take care of everything i need to... before HM gets here.

back to the boat. i'm not an alcoholic or anything but i am SO looking forward to the bloody mary's in the morning. okay, mid-morning. HM will be saving me a seat. i got walkie-talkies so i can find him when i wake up. i'm not a paranoid freak. if you had heard all the stories I'VE heard about cruises, this week, you would have gotten walkie-talkies, too!

gotta get back to packing. side note: i'm starting to get feeling in my fingers again. meaning, it's been too long since i picked up the guitar. two days to be exact. i gotta practice.

everything old is new again

does my man love me or DOES MY MAN LOVE ME??? yeah, he digs me. so he takes sadie for about a week because his truck was in the shop and i don't actually NEED a car to get to work.
while he had her, look at what he does... he got my girl a new windshield and a new back window and...and... a new side window. actually, TWO new side windows! although, only one was sliced when i was parking in the garage from hell, but they gotta match. either it was some random crazy shit or i REALLY pissed someone off! sadie was broken into almost weekly. they never took anything, just threw shit everywhere. AND sliced her side window. the back window was a zipper issue. i couldn't get the zipper back down and during bad rain and wind and driving 70mph down the freeway, uh, it sorta ripped.

so now my girl is all new and chiney. yes, i said, "chiney". i'm a mescan, i'm allowed.

the sad part is, i lost my favorite scabs sticker. he was mounted proudly on the back window. he's been on there forever. i love him. i got the sticker at a show and i've looked all over the internet to find one. i googled it. i even joined a yahoo group of bob schneider fans to see if anyone had extras. no one did. one girl said she might have some and she would look. that's been almost a month ago. one of them also said that i could probably pick one up at antone's. being as i'm about 3 hours away from the famous antone's, that's not happening any time soon.
i do, however, know two really cool chicks that live in austin that i may or not be seeing on thursday. and even if i don't see them, they will be in close enough proximity to drop it somewhere i could pick it up. so, if they should happen to make their way to antone's for a sticker, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! i will be indebted to you! below is a picture of the sticker i'm missing. it's the "scabs freebird" sticker. you know, in case you need to ask someone for it.

princess update: my sister had to pick the princess up from school yesterday. she had 102 fever! she went to the doctor today and has walking pneumonia. she'll be home until thursday, probably. so, she really IS sick.

riders on the storm

waves?

okay... i know there's a hurricane out in the gulf and the surfers get excited about "catching some tasty waves", but COME!ON! i've seen bigger waves in my toilet bowl! nice thot, eh?

on the upside, i got a really cool pic of a rainbow. okay, it wasn't really that cool, but still a rainbow. i had to de-brighten so you could really see it. pretty, huh?

weekend update\recap

friday - of course, we all know the "princess story". i will not go over it again. i watched rock and roll high school and turned in early.

saturday - practiced guitar some. fingers HURT. handyman met me at my sisters and we took the princess out to dinner. she still wasn't feeling very good, so it was pretty uneventful. we took her back home and hung out for a while with my sister and brother in law.

sunday - watched miss congeniality 2 and transporter. mc2 was pretty weak. the transporter was not exactly what i expected, but i liked it. this was our day. we ate and napped and talked about stuff we need for the cruise. i practiced guitar for about 20 minutes. next, i need to practice chord progression(?). the changing from one chord to another. i now know A Major and D Major. they don't sound all that great, tho. i always thot i had skinny fingers. apparently, they're not skinny enough to not hit the next string. it looks so easy on the damn video. when i press on the strings, i look like i have a dragon claw....pretty deformed. it's hard to keep them pressed to hear what you're supposed to. any tips would be appreciated...DAD!

i feel bad that we didn't see billy and loi but we fell asleep while we were talking about going to see them. when we woke up, neither one of us wanted to leave the a/c. i know... weak.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

killing me softly

geez-uz!! my sister is killing me! first the princess was spending the nite then she's not, then she is and now she's NOT again. first it was a soccer tournament and softball practice. then, the tournament got cancelled but she still had practice. then, practice got cancelled so she was able to spend the nite again.

today, i get an email and she tells me that practice is on again... at 8:30AM, tomorrow morning. so, no spending the nite and no shopping. ugh! we're postponing. rain delay, if you will.

my nite is free now. i wanna say that i'll do some laundry and pick up a bit but i already know that probably won't happen. when i wake up from my nap, i'll pick up the guitar and practice some. maybe put in
foxes. very old school movie but me and my sister used to really dig it. we also dug roller boogie and skatetown usa (both very cheesy-campy low budget skate films of '79), if that tells you anything. i.was.NINE.people! i also have rock and roll high school, again from '79. it made the ramones mainstream and pj soles nowhere to be seen until stripes. or at least nowhere i was looking.

p.s. wish me luck on building up the callouses.

UPDATE: not FIVE minutes into my nap... the princess calls. she tells me she's decided not to go to practice in the morning. she says, "because she's been sick *cough cough*". now, i really have to pick up the place and no guitar. damn...no foxes or rock and roll high school, either.

MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!!
2ND UPDATE: my niece just called. i knew she was sick the other nite so she wasn't entirely faking the get out of practice thing. but now, she just calls me AGAIN and tells me she's not spending the nite...her chest hurts. her mom says she started complaining about it and she gave her some meds. she told her that she wouldn't be able to spend the nite if she was still sick. apparently, it's for real, cuz she was okay with it.
she couldn't tell me this BEFORE i cleaned up and put a bra on?!?!?!?

princess diaries 2

my princess

this weekend marks the princess's 8th birthday. it's become an annual thing with all the kids that i take them for a day and do whatever. it's usually sleepover/lunch/shopping with the girls and dinner and shopping for the boys. well, shaggy just got shopping. but booger can not and will not pass up an opportunity for anyone to take him to red lobster.

anyways, big sis is gonna drop off the princess tomorrow nite and we're gonna slumber and chill. maybe do lunch on saturday and take her back home for cake. after cake, handyman has promised to take her to dinner. she's kinda looking forward to it. actually, she's really looking forward to it but she won't show it. i think she's got a little bit of a crush so she's shy around him. maybe not so much a crush but she thinks he's cool. last nite she asked if i was going to marry him. don't know if she may be a little jealous... or just wants to keep him close. i think she wants an "uncle handyman".

let the sunshine in

5 things you may or may not know about me:

1. I’m in love with the feeling of freefall. I desperately want to go skydiving. but i'm sure i'll piss my pants in the process

2. i am the queen of useless trivia

3. i love grilled cheese sandwiches

4. i sometimes pee when i sneeze

5. I can clean really well and make the house look spectacular, but I usually feel my time is better spent doing other things that make life enjoyable, so I generally don’t clean as much or as often as I probably should

weekend update\recap

friday - hmmm... what the hell did i do? damn, that was 5 days ago. i've slept since then. OOHHHHH... i remember now. okay... friday, i made it up to handyman's and we met sweet cheeks and her man out at mardi gras grill (formerly floyd's) home of the best crawfish in town. or so i've been told. great food!
afterwards, we went to cahill's and shot some pool. of course, going to cahill's, i gotta give a shout out to Rucker (whaddup Ruck?). it's a family name. anyways, we shot a few games. handyman and i kicked ass! yeah, we rock! i wish i could play like the old days. i was a bad ass on the pool table. not so much anymore. i'm not even lying. i was. ask my dad.

saturday - woke up EARLY! had to get ready for uncle jack's party. got to conroe and HM's nephew was in town. i got all kinds of video of him taking steps. you'd think i'd never seen a baby walk, right? he's 11 months old now. apparently, an early walker in the family. video will be up later.
we went to the party and hung out with cousins he doesn't know so, of course, i wasn't introduced to all of them. some i recognized from the
dedication last year.

sunday - watched
constantine and clay pigeons. constantine was not a bad flick. not bad at all. i enjoyed it. clay pigeons... eh. didn't really do much else. dug thru the sunday ads and played around on the laptop for a bit. had to get all those walking videos downloaded.

sorry it wasn't more interesting. good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

p.s. safe travels to addie. she and jimmy are going to alaska! how cool is that!?!?!?

Friday, August 19, 2005

i'm off like a dirty shirt

-duckie, pretty in pink

i'm gone again, this weekend. i'm going to houston for the busy weekend that's in front of us. tonite, i'm going to try and stop by to see Sweet Cheeks on my way into town. it's her birthday tomorrow and i won't be able to make it to the dinner celebration. i think i got a free pass anyways, since i threw her, her surprise party. yeah, i rock.

tomorrow, we're going to conroe/willis for a birthday party for handyman's uncle jack. don't know how all that's gonna turn out. this is family i haven't met... and i'm still not sure which side of the family or how he's an uncle....??? i think this is the redneck side of the family.

wish me luck!

keep your eyes on the road...

and off of stUpid bumper stickers. as my friend, addie, started the bumper sticker bandwagon, i thot i'd jump on. on the way home last nite, i'm talking to handyman on the cell and i see this truck in front of me with about four or five different bumper stickers about, "my child is a *insert school here* star" and "my child is an honor student".

while handyman IS on crack thinking i'm going to be driving a mini-van if and when we ever have kids.... i'm thinking this crap is not going on my car. so i start to tell him about it.

me: ugh... stUpid bumper stickers.

HM: what bumper stickers?

me: the ones with the "my child this and that" crap.

HM: oh.

me: baby... when we have kids and they're in school....

literally, i was mid-sentence when we both started cracking up. he knew where i was going with this. knowing i didn't want stUpid bumper stickers on my car about my child being a "star" OR an "honor student".

WHO THE HELL ARE WE KIDDING!?!?!? HM and i both suck at math. he can't spell. i'm losing my ability to spell (i think it's age). and i think he may be a little dyslexic, too. our kids will be lucky to have a C average and get out of high school by 20! yeah, they'll be smart kindergartners... cuz they'll be FRIKKIN.SEVEN.YEARS.OLD by the time they pass!

to handyman: you know i love you and this was not a slam on you in any way. i'm taking fault here, too. ask ronnie, i sucked in school.

Tuesday, August 16, 2005

should i stay or should i go

here are the kids having fun at the swimming party. the princess had a blast. honey bunny was skeered to jump. booger had the cannonball down. shaggy... well, shaggy just looked so damn cute going down the slide.

click on the picture or HERE to see the video.

p.s. yes... i know i need practice with the camera. gimme a break, it's new.

pictures of you

my princess

here are just a few pics from the birthday party this weekend. it was a good time but DAMN it was hot! my princess got a bunch of cool stuff including a sno-cone maker. i can't wait to use that one. her actual birthday isn't for another couple of weeks. that's when we have our slumber party. girl time. she's really looking forward to it and i can't wait.

weekend update\recap

friday - hung out at the casa, playing on the laptop, until about 8:30. went to pick up my princess and her friend from a party, took them to eat then went to my sisters. i was spending the night because i figured she might need help for the princess' birthday party the next morning. she did.
stayed up for a while and watched a few episodes of robot chicken with booger. we were crackin' up! we don't do much together anymore. he's 13 now and it's not so cool to hang out with his aunt anymore. okay, i know i never changed your diapers, but who took your butt to the library every week? and who took you out to eat every week? and who introduced you to chinese food? and crab claws? uh... me. show some love.

saturday - got up early (for a saturday). me and booger went to pick up the cake. we had my sister's ATM card. that boy is so good. i told him we had the card and if he wanted something he better get it now. he wouldn't bite. i, on the other hand, picked up some sunscreen. hey, i fed her kid last nite, she can buy me a $3 tube of sunscreen. not only is he a good kid and wouldn't get anything but she asked me to get extra money when i checked out. he immediately asked me what i got the extra cash for. narc.
proceeded to the party. of course, after the stop at shipley's for kolaches. it was damn hot out there! it was a swimming party. of course, i forgot my bathing suit. of course, i won't even wear shorts because my legs look awful right now. what the hell makes you think i'm gonna put on a bathing suit in front of about 30+ people when i won't even wear shorts in front of them????

saturday evening - handyman took me to CENTRAL MARKET. the mecca of grocery stores. i was in total awe. i was a central market virgin. no more, my friend. we spent a good part of 2 hours going thru the store and checking out various salsas and beers and nuts and coffees... i got these amaretto covered pecans. YUM! i wasn't on the next aisle yet before i tasted them i knew i had to go back for more. needless to say, i spent about $11 on amaretto covered pecans. they will last me a while, tho.
we wounded down the evening at king biscuit. i was so intrigued by this loud mouth tiny girl with a big ass. she was completely going off on this man, right in front of his wife. she went on and on about "i feel sorry for you having such little self worth" and "that's too bad for you" and "oh, i'm sure you're wife will believe that". it was awful. and apparently, it was all only because he didn't want to listen to her rant about the traffic and construction on I-45. what a waste. can you say, "issues"?

sunday morning - watched fantastic 4. i thot it was alright. HM thot it pretty much blew. i wanted to see it just cuz me and my sister used to have a thing for 'the thing' and all his orange glory.

sunday evening - went to have dinner with mamalane, papatom, and granna. it was granna's birthday last week so we had dinner for her. it was not just any dinner, tho. we went to Kirby's steakhouse in the woodlands. double YUM! that place is sooo good! everybody got steaks, except for me. i got fish. we also had 4 desserts that were passed around the table.... and you wonder why i don't wear shorts... anyway, it was good.
we also dropped sadie off at the mechanics. i think my baby girl is finally gonna get some a/c back in her. we'll see. handyman's already fixed her windshield and got new plastic for the back and side windows. she looks brand new again!

so that was my weekend. good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

p.s. there are no pictures because they're all on the laptop. i'm at work right now and all of our servers have crashed and i can't do my work. this was just something to keep me busy. i'll post pics later tonite.

Friday, August 12, 2005

hey, mother! father! sister!

my "sistah" is the best! she just called to tell me that not only did she get us two extra tickets to journey, but that they're VIP passes with two primo parking passes! how much does she love me?!?!? hey, maybe throwing that surprise party for her got me some extra tickets. i'll have to see whose playing next year around this time.

still wishin' steve perry was still with them.

from the corners of my mind

this is my first video on the blog. click the picture or click HERE to watch it.

it's of me, beau, megan, and boston watching an alien ant farm concert at mardi gras a couple of years ago.

good times.

una mas cerveza

gawd please... no more drinking on school nites. whose idea was it to feed me margaritas at dinner then buy me beers at the game?!?!?!?!? good god, man!

ugh... i had this whole thing typed up and crapped it because i was trying to move something around by cutting and pasting. probably karma...it wasn't a very nice post. anyways, the gist of it was, i called in sick today and missed my boss having a hissy because one of my co-workers deleted a whole table in the database it took him three months to complete. stUpid!

i wouldn't enjoy it so much if she wasn't such the frikkin martyr. i'm awful, i know.

supplies!!

sweet cheeks

so we pulled it off! thanks to EVERYONE involved. lee was great in giving us a "heads up" when they were heading down. she had no clue and was completely surprised. yay!

bonus: since it was a fake "stock the bar" party, i got a few presents, too!

baby whatcha got inside your big ole head

-scabs

my baby's finally growing into his head. i was wondering if this was ever going to happen. when we got him, he had this ginourmous head! you've seen pics.

anyways, ringo has a happy life in his happy house with his happy back yard. actually, he doesn't much care for the back yard. when it's time for them all to go out, he hides under the bed. i think roscoe and henry are secretly kicking his ass when handyman's not around. why else would he be scared? he goes out when i go out with him. it's like he needs protection or something. handyman says i'm crazy... hey, it could happen!

might as well face it

i'm addicted to laptop.

okay, but really... if you used this hometypist thing that i just put on my pc, you would SO want to type all nite. or maybe you wouldn't. i'm just kinda addicted to that whole typewriter sound. it's so cool. i'm sure it'll get annoying after a while, but that's why there's a MUTE! try it.

how cute is my shaggy?

my shaggy

these are pictures taken at my honey bunny's birthday party...a.month.later. but really? how cute is he????

daddy's gone

so my dad and the step monster flew in and we met them for drinks after dinner. the step monster FELL IN LOVE with handyman! who wouldn't? huh? we all had a really good time. i'm glad they got to meet and we got to hang out.

on another note, i'm supposed to be getting my place together for this weekend's party. this laptop is KILLING me, tho. for example, tonite i was going to change out records in the jukebox. oscar, chris and vikkie were supposed to come over for beers and help with this. vikkie had football practice (kids), chris called while i was running errands and i was going to be a while, oscar just plain bailed. i knew he would. he helped me last time and swore he wouldn't do it again. but when i talked to him today, he actually sounded excited about helping me! i knew he was faking. getting back to the laptop... since nobody showed, i got out the laptop: first - to type up handyman's labels for his jukebox. second - to load office xp. well, after i installed office, i started creating a database for my records. thinking, i'm going to be going thru them anyway, i might as well have some sort of record (you know, for when i'm looking for something specific). sounded like a good idea. of course, now, that's all i've been doing. i've been on the laptop all nite. no laundry. no record switching. nuttin'. i'm lame.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADDIE!

yeah, it was friday but at least i called... and REMEMBERED it was your birthday.

in the past i have called adrienne on her birthday and actually forgot it was her birthday. i'm rambling about non-important crap and she says she's at dinner. okay, i'll call her later. two days later i call her back and she asks, "uh, did you not know it was my birthday dinner"? there was no use in trying to play it off. yeah, i suck.

it sounds like the girls took care of her, tho. steph, no more blog recommendations while drunk. please.
