...and another thing

i have yet to keep up with the daily photo since the move. it might as well turn into the 'weekly' photo at the rate i'm going now!

i also don't have time to even upload what i do have and put it on ofoto for everyone else to see. yes, because i know you are DYING to see all the pictures i puke onto your computer screens. of course, there are pictures you actually might want to see, like pictures from the crawfish boil or pictures of the mustang (for you boy readers) or even pictures of HM in a bubble bath. okay, maybe you don't wanna see that last one, but i like to give you options.

i'm going to try my damndest to fit all of this (it sounds like so much when really, it isn't) in on a daily basis. i did it before. of course, i had almost 2 extra hours of no drive time. and of course, i wasn't at the gym until whenever. as it is, i'm on my lunch break and i have found time to update but still with no pictures. they are all on the laptop. my poor baby, laptop (Lappy). i'm sure she misses me as much as i do her. hold on, Lappy... momma's coming!

life or something like it

it would appear, now, that i have no life. how in the HELL do people have jobs, go to the gym, make dinner, AND have KIDS!?!?!? i don't even HAVE the kids yet and i feel like i can't do it.

here's what the schedule looks like:

6:00am - wake up
6:45-7:00am - leave house (if i leave any later than 6:55, i'm totally screwed with traffic)
7:45am - get to work
work work work work work
4:00-4:30pm - leave work
5:00pm - get to gym
6:30-6:45pm - attempt to leave gym
7:00pm - get home
7:05-7:30 - feed dogs and start dinner
7:30-8:00pm - dinner
10:00pm - bedtime

after dinner, it could be a variety of things. anything from laundry to loading/unloading the dishwasher to getting all my food and clothes together for the next day. it seems like i have no time for anything else. this is the cycle. it's a far cry from getting home at 4:30, watching the end of oprah and taking a nap because you're bored with her. now... there is no oprah and there is no nap. and you'll notice there is NO LAPTOP TIME?!?!?! WHAT THE???

i know i'm doing all this for a good cause and when i reach my goal i may scale down my days at the gym. we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. i think, as soon as i streamline the "getting my food together" process, it'll take no time at all to prepare and i may have an extra 20 minutes to take the boys for a walk or play on the laptop. but for now? it ain't happenin'.

so note to all my kiddies out there: i will be at your games again, one day, in the not so distant future. but for now, it's all about the weekends with you folks. and only after my 9:00am kwando class!

weekend update/recap

friday - DATE NITE! somebody slap me!... if i ever say i want to leave HM. if friday nite is any indication of how "til death do us part" will be, then count me in. i started a new workout regimen last week, friday only being my second day and i was sore. so sore that my legs felt like rubber when coming down the stairs. so sore that i couldn't sit on the toilet without holding onto something. so sore that... you get the picture.

i let him know when i was leaving the gym and told him i was going to stop and get some epsom salt (for soaking). that was all good with him since dinner wasn't quite ready just yet. so when i get home, he already had the tub filled with hot water and bubbles and candles lit all around. how sweet is that? not only did he have it filled but he also had three more pots of water, boiling, to add to the tub.

i was so comatose after about 15 minutes that i had to get out and shower it off. i was that sore!

date nite included salmon, dirty rice, caesar salad, and green beans with pecans. so good. we sat outside with the boys and had a glass of wine after. then, came in to watch a movie. a movie that i don't think we watched after all. something was wrong with the sound or something.

saturday - got up early for the 9:00 am kwando class. afterwards, i went to meet S1 for pedicures. we both seriously needed them. uh... one of us more than the other (i'm not mentioning any names). but there were only two of us there. and it wasn't me. ;)

that evening, we painted some of the game rooom and grilled t-bones. gotta get the good stuff before i start poppin' the kids out. BIL1 said after we have kids, it'll be hot dogs and hamburger helper. can't wait. ugh.

sunday - it was kind of a lazy day. we started to paint the room for the princess. it's now going to be half white and half lime green, instead of the original plan. i'm guessing she'll fill the top half with all the colors she wanted.

that's the weekend in a nutshell. no unpacking, no cleaning the garage. this was our first "down" weekend and we enjoyed every bit of it. good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

3 is a magic number

so it'll be three weeks this weekend. three weeks that we've been living together... and we haven't killed each other. i'd say we're doing just fine. there are little quirks about us both that we've had to get used to, so far.

for example:

morning routine - in the mornings, he likes the 80's station and i like to listen to the oldies. he let me have that one.

tv in bedroom - he likes to fall asleep watching tv. i can't stand to have a tv in the bedroom. we've compromised and he can have one in there only for the morning news and only if we can hide it in an armoire or something similar. i know i sound like a hard-ass, but let's see you wake up to some loud bombing explosion noise in the middle of the night from a M*A*S*H rerun.... you'd be pissed, too, if you couldn't get back to sleep.

dogs on carpet and bed - it's inevitable. there's only one room with no carpet and that's the kitchen. we can't confine the boys to the kitchen if we're upstairs. it just seems cruel. and my poor baby boy ringo dog got tired of being kicked off the bed so many times, that he has now resorted to sleeping alone on a t-shirt on the sofa.

laundry - he is not allowed to do it. my laundry smells better and often i don't dry alot of things. i would think this is a plus for him...?

copenhagen pouches - found in random spots on the floor and bathroom and kitchen island. i don't care how much flavor they have left. PUT THEM IN THE TRASH!!!

last but certainly not least,

trash - when you take out the trash, please PUT A LINER (BAG) BACK IN THE CAN!!! and if there's not a liner in there (cuz you didn't replace the last one) DO NOT throw anything in there! including your stinky ass pouches!! i will break him of this. mamalane said he would be dead if he tried that at her house. i have to go with one of his favorite quotes to me... "don't half-ass it".
_______________________________

not to bitch about my HM... because he IS very good to me. two (quirks) out of however many i may find later, is not bad. i'm sure there are quirks/habits about me that he hasn't gotten used to, but that's what comments are for.

coming out of the dark

okay, so i meant to post yesterday, but our stUpid roadrunner connection would not allow me to do so. i played with it for about 45 minutes. first off, i think our cable modem is fried. secondly... well, there really is no second. our modem is fried and i can't get online from home. oh, and everyone with wireless, in our neighborhood, is locked down! stingy hacks!

i have a ton of pictures to post. i just uploaded them all to the laptop last nite. i'll get to them. i promise. out of the 350+ pictures i took over the last two weeks, it still feels like i didn't get enough. i really wanted more video of the move just to document it, but i didn't want BIL1 bitchin' at me to get back to work. hence, no video of move.

i'll be back soon. i'm going to screw with the modem and connections more tonite. until then, buh-bye.

here i come to save the daaaaayy

WOZ rocks! woz is a friend of mine. well, she's a friend of HM's that i like and after tonite, i LUV her! she came over to continue helping me with packing. if it wasn't for her, i don't think i would have gotten as much done. she says i have a bit of A.D.D. i'm special.

we got the front bathroom, all the living room, all the kitchen, all the bedroom closet, the office area, my bookcase, and the bar done! all i really have left is the bedroom and back bathroom. after that's packed, i'm hoping to do some laundry and air up the tires on my bikes, just so they'll be easier to move.

lil bit's coming over to help me finish everything up tomorrow nite. i move all my stuff on saturday and then i'm gone. tomorrow will be the last time i walk to work. =(

pack it up pack it in, let me begin

i have to pack! it's almost 6:30 and i just got off of work. today was not the day i needed. it started as soon as i got to work... actually, when i got to the door of my building. first off, i got all the way to work and as i'm opening the door i look down and realize i still have my flip flops on! yes, i wear my flops in the morning because i don't have slippers right now. i ran down my old pair and now i have none. i have to come back home and put shoes on.

* i get back to work and one of the managers is already on the phone, bitchin' about an application that didn't run. i'm on the phone with the vendor immediately.

* then, from the assistant to our director: we're getting new printer/fax/copier/scanners. what's the IP? do they have a data jack in place already? what's the phone number for the fax?

* first of month reports are due. now!

* the data jacks need activation. i have to show the telecomm boys where they're going.

* monday reports are due. now!

* the before mentioned application is still not running.

* the dork wants to put a server station behind one of our most valued employees. i don't want him to because of the distractions. so we get into a big to-do.

* then there was a whole other thing with a person who expects me to do her job. i forwarded it to the dork to handle.

i'm now at home and i need to get crackin' on the packin'. wish me luck.

weekend update/recap

friday - my daddy and stepmonster came into town for the rodeo... with 27 of their closest friends. they only brought seven of them to visit with me. we hung out at the local bar for about an hour or so then they were on their way to the next stop. they had already made rounds all from the airport to the island.

afterwards, i went to see HM and we went to 'deaux to celebrate the sale of his dad's land. we had a really good time. i really enjoy being with him. we're in our own little world when we're out with each other. we're very silly with each other and i like that. he can push it, but for the most part, it's cute. =)

saturday - i took my ringo dog to petsmart to get him a new collar. his is getting too small. that dog needs to quit growing! S1 was right in calling him baby huey. he thinks he's still a little puppy and can fit on top of really small things, like the middle console. he doesn't fit. after the collar, we got his nails clipped and i got all the boys nylabones. yay! they love mommy again!

saturday evening, i spent the better part of it waiting on sweet cheeks. she was supposed to be coming down for the bridal show and had not shown up three hours later. needless to say, i was pretty pissed. when she didn't show up, i was kept company by bailey. bailey is megan's new puppy she rescued from the shelter the other day. i don't want to go into the details, but he's safe now. and totally cute! i didn't take any pictures, i was too busy cleaning up all his pee.

sunday - sweet cheeks got here about 11:00. we went to lunch and talked about her awful day which led to her not coming in last nite. after her story, she's forgiven. she did have a pretty rough day and i couldn't be mad at her. well, i could but she had already gone thru enough.

after lunch, we went to pick up megan and headed to the bridal show. it was smaller than i expected, but there were photographers, videographers, venues, dj's, florists, etc. i won a $50 off coupon for a florist shop i'm sure i won't use. bonus! they also had a "fashion" show. feathers galore. they really should have showed more bridal dresses.

afterwards, we went for a bloody mary and looked thru magazines for ideas. sweet cheeks had some input and i think we kinda got an idea of what kind of dress to get for her and addie. we'll see how that pans out.

she's throwing in the towel... literally

so we all the know the story of S1 and no hand towels in the guest bath, right? well, guess what??? she has a towel now!! sure it looks like one they may have ripped off from their last vacation stay at the holiday inn, but it's a towel none the less... and last nite, i didn't have to air dry my hands after washing them.

here's a little before & after for ya:

feeling that way

sorry there have been no updates. yeah, cuz i got that big a fan base that i need to apologize...

anyways, been feeling a little under the weather this week. it started last week and hasn't ended. i finally got some cold medicine; nyquil, dayquil and sudafed. nyquil sucks! both nites i took it, i was up half the nite! i took it last nite and was up until 3:45 then had some crazy ass dream... i was in a truck with some mescan (don't know who it was) but he "told" me to do something and i told him to say, "please" and then he started freaking out and driving all crazy and i don't know what happened after that. he never said please and i never did what he told me to. bastard. he'll learn.

on another note, since i've been sick i've been doing nothing at the apt. i need to pick-up again for this coming weekend. it'll be mostly HM's friends coming in from austin and houston. it's gonna be cool! BA is coming in... he's my favorite! my friends flaked. frisky has a test this weekend, franika went to new orleans last weekend (which was probably a lot cooler!), and sweet cheeks says she's been sick. ;0) she'll make it up to me next weekend, tho. i have her coming in for a bridal show thingy at the convention center. she's probably gonna wish she had made it to mardi gras instead.

weekend update\recap

this was week 1 of mardi gras festivities. i started to feel like i was coming down with something but my dumbass never got any cold medicine for myself. i kept forgetting to get it while i was out and when i got back home, i didn't wanna go back out again, in the cold, to get any.

it was a pretty weak celebration. it was too cold and i'm sure people thot it would be raining all weekend. plus, there was the all star game going on this weekend, too.

i didn't have to work and i didn't have boston here to hang out with. i sometimes work a beer booth and that keeps me pretty busy the first weekend. this year, they had everything covered. also, boston's been gone for a couple of years now, but i always think about him during this time. we just always had a lot of fun hanging out and watching the bands.

friday - kinda finished picking up around my place. i wasn't really expecting anyone. it was too damn cold and nobody wanted to leave the warmth of the bars. i ended up hanging out with my telecomm buddies. they were splitting time between my place and another party at the roof garden. it was a good time. we had a few drinks, walked around for a bit, went to 21, and i called it an early nite. i missed my honey.

the telecomm boys and their look-a-like

saturday - telecomm1 called me for breakfast. i met him and his wife out for mescan. it was the first time i'd met his wife and she was glad cuz she said she's heard plenty about me. about how cool i was and all. you know, the usual. afterwards, i took a burrito to my buddy and had a bloody mary. waiting for my annual friend to get into town.

when she got there, we made our way to the seawall where it easily could have doubled as a ghost town. it was the cold. it kept everybody in. we still met up with my co-worker friends at a warm and cozy bar.

co-worker friends and annual friend in the background

a little later, we had some lunch then made our way to jeff's mom's house. thank god brad & dana were there. jeff went out of town. jake, his brother, was shooting the all-star game and gabe is MIA. these are the regulars. also, with jeff and jake not being there, there were NO CRAWFISH TAQUITOS!! how could they?!?!? that's the one thing i look forward to every year! yes... when we move, we (or i, myself) will still make it down for the first weekend and CRAWFISH TAQUITOS!

dana's fluoride infested teeth and a group photo with brad

after the parade and very interesting conversation (another story all on it's own), we made our way back downtown. we made the usual rounds and ended the nite at whiskey's, which also made for interesting conversation. two of the bar peeps are getting married. the groom was really excited to tell me about it. he told me all about the wedding party and his buddy, mike, being "his second". what are we.... racing at thunder road??? anyways, he goes on to tell me that the groomsmen are wearing... are you ready for this... vampire tuxedos. what the hell is a vampire tuxedo??? i googled it and only saw vampire costumes. he also said the bridesmaids were wearing vampiress dresses. he then went on to tell me that she would be the only light surrounded by darkness. his face lit up when he talked about it. in his mind, it was beautiful and that's all that matters.

sunday - i begged the tacqueria to deliver breakfast tacos to us. since the streets were all blocked off we compromised and i met them a block away. that was the best deal ever made! we didn't have to walk the six blocks in the freezing cold and we got to eat in our jammies! and watched
bubble boy

while we were eating! how could breakfast get any better?

we pretty much just lounged around until around 4:00. after that, my annual friend went home and i continued watching re-run movies on tbs.

i wanted to play with my new toy... my 400G external hard drive. yes, i am a true gadget geek! instead, started downloading pictures and video from the weekend.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

gimme a break!

mardi gras is coming! mardi gras is coming! so, we all know my penchant for procrastination, correct? my place is a wreck and i’ll have people in and out all weekend. it’s the first weekend so it’s not gonna be crazy, but still.

i spent all evening shopping, washing, putting away and cleaning… and i STILL haven’t made it to the living room. except for the bar. i cleaned the bar. priorities. right now, i’m taking a break to watch
without a trace only to find out it’s a re-run. i don’t mind re-runs, but this one was kinda lame. since it’s a lame one, i decided to go ahead and break anyway. as you can tell.

i think i may wait until lunch, tomorrow, to finish the living room. or maybe after work. i dunno. the living room just mainly needs “pick-up”. i think i’m done for the nite. i even made a trip to the laundromat to wash all my blankets! damn, i’m good! i needed clean blankies for friends that are staying over next weekend.

to tell you a little bit about the first and second weekends of mardi gras… the first weekend i usually spend on the seawall. there are two parades. the day parade, i hang out with co-worker friends that don’t see a lot. co-workers meaning, i talk to them on the phone a lot but we don’t work in the same department. the nite parade is reserved for the team. my cycling team goes to jeff’s moms. she always has a big bounce thing in the backyard and we watch the parade from a block away. afterwards, we get the grub ON! every year, she has shrimp taquitos, crawfish taquitos, homemade mac & cheese, gumbo, and much more! last year, she let me take some taquitos home! i had ‘em for breakfast the next morning.

another good thing about the first weekend is that my “annual” friend may become my semi-annual friend. she’s coming in saturday to join in the festivities.

p.s. i love you

we've come a long way, baby!
happy valentine's day!

weekend update/recap

friday - not much of anything really. i was supposed to clean up or do some laundry or work on the evite. instead, i played all nite. i started watching something… and then saw this website and got hooked. i was looking up all kinds of stuff on old movies from the 80’s. got a little carried away. that was about it.

saturday - got up early to make it to the princess’ basketball game. got plenty of video but of course i wasn’t filming when she had the ball! BIL1 wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday, (of course, this was before he found out S1 already got me a gift) so we went for seafood (not red lobster) where the princess proceeded to eat her weight in crawfish! takes after her aunt sweet t.

crawfish that was left, S1 & booger, BIL1, and the princess self portrait

best presents EVER! C A A A N YOU D I I I I G IT?!?!?
.
after lunch, i had to do some shipping then headed home. it was a pretty full day already. after naps, HM and i went to see donkeey at the san luis then had birthday dinner at the steakhouse. YUM! we called it an early nite since i had to be up in the morning.
.
sunday - can i get a WUWU? the fourth annual WUWU was upon us on sunday. i was supposed to be there at 7 but didn’t wake up until 6:30! it’s a good 45 minute to an hour drive from my place. i realized i set the alarm for 5:00pm and not AM! HM got up to make me coffee (god i love him!) and i jumped around to get ready and get out the door in 15 minutes. okay… 20 minutes.
.
we had such a good time at the WUWU! i got to see my annual friend, cynthia. she is so much fun to hang out with! we're annual friends because this is the only time we ever see each other. we’re on each others rest stop every year. she said she almost left when i didn’t show up early. she loves me.
.
everything was good with our rest stop except the hack tramp that showed up, solely it seemed, just to piss me off! seriously… this girl gave me nothing but grief! as soon as the ‘eye of the tyger’ called and said they needed corner marshals, i sent her! ugh… i was DONE with her. get lost!
.
it wasn't all bad, tho. one of the girls from last year totally redeemed herself. last year, whenever we asked her to do something she was scared she might break a nail and try to delegate it to someone else or flat out just not do it. this year, she had the majority of everything setup before i even got there. she and the newest member of my rest stop team, austin. austin will be with me for future WUWU's. that little kid worked his butt off!! he totally rocked. austin, my annual friend and myself were the only non-freaks at my rest stop. we will continue the tradition and next time, not on a lame ass rest stop like THREE! i will be reclaiming rest stop FOUR next year!

pauline & portobello, zak attack, annual friend & me, lil bo & brokeback, and char in the background

random photos of 'the kids of WUWU'

for all photos of the WUWU, click here. also, i will go into much more detail about my gifts, later, cuz i think they are totally cool and deserve more than just a picture posted on a blog. for now, good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

since u been gone?

seriously... what the hell is it with kelly clarkson that everybody is so hyped about?? that's all i've heard about the last few days. first, dadgonemad mentioned her in his blog because he's a little embarrassed to say he likes her. then, because of that thing with her not allowing american idol to use her songs and then on addie's blog and then she won two grammys last nite (and failed to thank the show that MADE her).

anyways, i had that damn song going thru my head all day. i had even mentioned it to HM, to which he thot it was life altering and probably couldn't live without me finishing the story... NOT! so i tell him, i GOTTA hear what everyone is talking about. i went to borders and listened to a few snippets of her cd. first, i listened to the recommended songs then went on to the not so popular ones. she's alright, i guess. good voice, just not my kinda music. i'd have to be in the mood for popsy bee bop... and is it just me or does she get dumped in every damn song??? at least in every new single she comes out with. she's always pissed off at someone who just dumped her. "i just got dumped. wrote a song about it. like to hear it? hear it go... heeeyeeahh".

double vision

i don't know what the hell is going on or why, but the past two days there's something freaky going on with my vision. i was at work and all of a sudden, everything was blurred. the top right corner of my vision was jagged. it freaked me out and one of my co-workers told me to go see a doctor ASAP! my buddy drove me over and as soon as we got there, it was gone. my vision was clear.

the doc checked me out and told me, physically, there's nothing wrong with me, my eyesight is perfect and that i just had symptoms of a migraine. fair enough. i guess i'd never had one. i've had really bad sinus headaches but not a migraine. no meds. he told me to go home and sleep it off in a dark room. done.

last nite, i went to target. i wanted to get the kids' V-day cards and check out the new flash wristband. i could totally use the wristband, but it'd have to be bigger than 256MB. if they ever have a 1G wristband, i'm all over it! back to my point... at target, i'm looking at cards and it happens again. the blurred vision. only it's in a different spot this time. it's the bottom left and in a triangle shape. i can't read the cards. pretty freaky. so i pay attention to it (doc said if it happened again, go see an opthamologist) but this time i don't get a headache.

i go to work today and i'm talking to the dork... dr dork if you will. he has now diagnosed me with sinus pressure. he says that's why the blurred vision and the headaches. it happened to him a few years back. of course. what hasn't? i was okay all day until the very end. it wasn't as bad as the previous two days, not by a longshot. two minutes as opposed to 30. if it happens again, for a prolonged period of time, i suppose i should see a specialist of some sort. i'm not too jazzed about that one, but i'll do it.

like i'm not already frikkin' stressed enough!?!?!?!?!??

weekend update/recap

friday - went to a mardi gras happy hour w/ $10 all you can drink margaritas. bad idea. i was completely wasted and utterly useless the whole next day. i had fun at the happy hour, tho. i got a lot of congrats and good luck on our engagement. it was fun talking about the plans and hearing all the "married people" stories. it was a fun time just talking to everyone. it could have just been the alcohol but it was still fun. we laughed our asses off most of the nite.

saturday - not a good start. S2 woke me up with a phone call, pretty early. she was making g sure i was coming over to see my dad. my hungover ass went back to sleep. woke up again around 1 and got in the tub. i let the hot water just run over me until it ran out. went back to bed.

around 2:00, after a call from S1, i got back up and started moving around (seriously, can they not entertain our dad without me???). i took a real shower and got out the door around 3:00. and let me gripe for a second... what the hell is it with mexican restaurants closing at 2:00 on the weekend??? do people not eat mexican food after 3:00??? i know I do! and i could have used some greasy-cheesy when i finally got out! the place i did find was not as good as anything i've had anywhere else. ick. i got to S2's and was not as entertaining as everyone had hoped for, i'm sure.

later that evening, we met HM for dinner. i had a bloody mary to try and bring me out of my funk, but it didn't work. the stepmonster said she had never seen me so bad off. i don't get drunk alot. i gotta say, i probably won't be getting drunk again any time soon.

sunday - woke up to bacon and pancakes. seriously, what did i do to deserve this man?!?!?? after breakfast, we went to look for furniture. both of us have pretty mis-matched bedroom furniture so we want a new bed and furniture to match. we hit about five different stores and got a few ideas about what we like. after that, i treated my man to dinner and we called it an early nite.

i wish i would have been in a better place saturday. it's not like i get to see my dad and the stepmonster every day. i did make my dad cry, tho. i finally asked if he would do me the honor of walking me down the aisle (with a keepsake card he'll keep near his heart forever). i always assumed he knew he would, but as with a past wedding in the family he didn't want to ruffle feathers. he said yes. i can't wait.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

p.s. the princess made the first basket (2 points) at her basketball game this weekend!

rock lobster

tonite i had a date with the booger. no pictures... HM has the camera. anyways, as per usual, he wants to go to red lobster. i vow to, one day, show that boy what good seafood is!

our date was for his birthday dinner. yes, it was back in december but we've both been pretty busy. and as i've said before... it's just not cool to hang out with your aunt when you're 14 and mr. popular! the little shit only wanted to suddenly go because he was grounded. fine. use me.

seriously... we have nothing to talk about. it was pretty silent the whole way up there. except for the necessary talk of trying to get him to go somewhere else. at red lobster, we find a common ground... sports. thank god i know something about sports! we talked football, cuz that's the one i know, a little baseball and very little basketball. we both think the texans need a new offensive line, roger needs to retire no matter where he's at now and there are too many injuries for the rockets so they suck.

we also talked cars. he'll be driving in two years. he wants a black jeep wrangler, hard top. i told him that was useless cuz why bother getting a jeep if you can't take the top off. well... you can. but it's a lot harder. he said soft tops are too loud and he'd rather take the doors off. such a boy thing to do. he made his point later when i asked if he wanted to go to Baskin-Robbins. he replied with, "no, i don't like Batman & Robin". smartass.

weekend update/recap

friday - not much of anything after work. met a couple of friends out for a drink at happy hour. we haven't seen each other in a while so we caught up. also saw another friend that is now going thru a divorce. sad. he's a jerk, tho. he kinda creeps me out when i have to talk to him about work related stuff. i limit my calls to him when i can.

got to bed early cuz i had to be up for princess' first basketball game. ahem...the teams 3rd game, her 1st.

saturday - up early to catch the game. her first. she kinda sucks. i have pictures and video i'll show you later. they're on my camera and i failed to download before i gave it to HM to use this week.

after the game, she asked, "why did everybody have to come to my first game"? she enjoyed watching the video footage i got of her, tho. kinda made her forget she sucked just by seeing herself be active.

after lunch, i made my way to HM's to help him pack. the packing didn't happen. it was a rainy day so we just kinda laid around and got to bed early.

sunday - woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs. damn, my man loves me! we finally got around to packing stuff up and taking things off the walls. HM was putting fresh paint on the walls so they'll be pretty for the new renters.

not a real eventful weekend but a good one. i got to see the kids, i got to hang with my man, and i got to comfort him when he started freaking out about us moving in together. i don't think he freaked out about us living together as much as he did about him leaving "his house". he'll be okay.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

weekend update\recap

hello boys and squirrels! this weekend was FUUUNNN! sorry you missed it, addie. i understand, you have priorities. it was a giant family reunion is what it was. also got to see some old friends, like rudy, who was my escort for every frikkin' quincinera i was ever in! roland and joey, who were at my house EVERY. FRIKKIN'. WEEKEND. when we were in junior high. monica, who i've had the very pleasant experience of reconnecting with since she's part of the family. well, S1's family. anyways... to recap:

friday - S1 cancelled plans to decorate the hall because they were doing the floors or something, so i just stayed home and picked up a bit. also watched memoirs of a geisha. i think the book told the story much better, but i still really liked the movie. played on the laptop some. i now have over 3000 fonts and crazy mad font lady is stopping now. i think i got enough for my friends' kids, my sisters' kids, my future kids and my future kids' kids!

saturday morning - for the SECOND weekend in a row, got up early for S1. last weekend, it was for the cancelled basketball game because of the sickly princess. this weekend, it was to decorate for the party. and AGAIN, she is not on time. i'm going to start showing up an hour late for everything she has now... cuz THAT'S when SHE will actually be there.

i got a wedding planner out the deal so i'm not complaining too too much. we'll just call her J-Lo.. or Jayala... or J-La. i'm not sure yet. first, we'll have to see if she gets her internship, closer to home. if so, she's all mine! if not, i don't wanna make the poor girl drive all the way from school whenever we need something.

after the FOUR AND A HALF hours of decorating.... i couldn't even think straight. i didn't even WANT to shop for anything new to wear. i went home and tried to rest, seeing as she wanted me back at 6:30. we didn't leave the damn hall until nearly 3:00! AND i still had to get ice!

saturday nite - good times. like i said earlier, we got to reconnect with all the peeps. i got to see cousins i haven't seen in years. my cousins, paul and freddie. we had fun dancing with them. after the party, we went to my mom's and i got to show my great aunt the type of dress i wanted. she is a fabulous seamstress and has offered to make my wedding dress for me. i'm still not sure if i want one made or if i just want to go and rent one. regardless, it was a nice offer and she can do anything i want.

sunday - HM bribed me to leave him at home. i had already told him he needed to be with the family on sunday, for breakfast. i knew he had a rough week, so i wasn't too hard on him. basically, he provided barbacoa and tortillas as an addition to the breakfast at mom's. i was nice... i brought him breakfast before i left.

afterwards, we went to S1's to rack up on leftover bbq from the par-tay. i hung out with the kids for a while then decided i'd had enough of family and came home.

i got home and just got lazy with HM. we took a really good nap and only got up to eat. he made some chicken fajitas that went really well with my mom's homemade tortillas. that's about all i got.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow. if you want to see all the photos from the weekend, click here.

font you!

i swear, i am the crazy mad font lady from hell right now! i can't stop! i have 2071 fonts on my laptop right now and i'm not done! i had to stop on the l's last nite.

it started out, i was just looking for fonts for wedding invites. then, i came across cutesy fonts... you know, fonts i could use for the nieces and nephews for parties they might have. then, i ran across HALLOWEEN fonts and CHRISTMAS fonts and BALLOON fonts... aaaggghhhhh!!! somebody, stop me, please! heeelllppp!

p.s. of course blogger doesn't support these fonts so you can't even share my pain! ahem... joy. i mean, joy.

weekend update\recap

friday - met the boys for happy hour. they were telling me stories about their weddings and all the planning they didn't do... because their boys.

saturday - got up early to catch the princess' first basketball game. little did i know that the little twerp would get sick. HM thinks she's faking it. i went to see the family anyways. i picked up breakfast and made my way over.

looks sickly doesn't she?
i stayed long enough to play a game of Shout about Music. the princess was on my team against S1. that game is loooong. eight rounds long. but it was fun! we kicked her momma's butt! it was close at times, tho. S1 thot she was a badass until we came back. the princess was guessing most of them, but her guesses were damn good! after the game, we got our "bling" on!

afterwards, i stopped to give shaggy his caricature we had made of him last weekend. also, stopped at my mom's and got to circle things i wanted in the jcpenny kitchen catalog! YAY! along with those giant feet slippers i saw!

saturday nite - laundry. 'nuff said.

sunday - got up early AGAIN. this time because S1 and her SIL were going to arne's and S1 thot i might be able to get some ideas for the wedding. since i'm not really in the market for a pinata shaped like a wedding cake,

i opted to look for mardi gras stuff instead. the place was already cleaned out. the store did look like it had just puked up valentine's, tho.

afterwards, we went to lunch and parted ways afterwards so they could go home and i could go see my man! we had dinner with the trainor twins and called it an early nite. HM had been working right alongside the day laborers (mescans) all day and it killed his back.

monday - basically, a lazy day. HM went to work and i played lazy all day. i did make it out to lunch but not dinner, later. sorry lil' sisters.

good nite and have a pleasant tomorrow.

wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin'

- wishin' and hopin', ani difranco

wishin' i had a magic wedding genie, hopin' i get everything right, thinkin' i'm gonna screw something up, and prayin' that i don't piss anyone off. that'll be a miracle, i'm sure.

already, i have alot of friends offering to help and they better remember who they are... cuz i will be calling. i do feel bad that we missed THE "must attend" event of the season. i had a ginourmous headache and then felt bad because mamalane had already driven out to go with me. sorry mamalane.

i'm feeling better about the planning process, tho. as i said, i have friends willing to help and others who just get giddy at the thot of a wedding. that would be meagan. i went to wally world with her last nite and she insisted we dig thru wedding magazines. she bought the martha stewart "weddings", which is cool cuz mamalane was just telling me i needed to get that one. it's got a lot of DIY stuff in there, which is cool cuz that's what we're gonna be doing. i'm really excited about doing a lot of it myself, but skeered as hell thinking about all of it.

when we got back to my place, we were so into the magazines that we completely missed CSI:Miami (our favorite). she was so into it, tho. writing down websites i needed to look at. she even made notes next to her notes. it was sweet and right on the verge of obsessive at the same time. i need somebody to obsess. i'm way too laid back and scared some of the details may get overlooked. i've decided she will be a great asset in my time of need.

weekend update/recap

this weekend started with a quick clean up to my place just so i didn't have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend.

friday\saturday - shaggy came to spend the nite. i picked him up and asked where he wanted to go, completely avoiding bringing up McDonalds. i even named RED LOBSTER (booger's favorite)! at first, he wanted Taco Bell. then he thot about it and said he changed his mind. he'd rather have McD's... because he wants to play on the slide!

so off to the slides we go.

he had a pretty good time, i think. up until the part where he got in trouble and started crying and wanted to go home. after explaining to him why he got in trouble, the boy made ME cry more than he was crying. ugh! five minutes later, he was fine and laughing. my whole face was still red from crying.

of course, no visit to McD's is complete without SOFT SERVE!!

afterwards, we went to Wally World and picked up a game for him to play at my place. we got the joystick game that has ms pac-man, galaga, pole position and two others i had no clue how to play. he caught on pretty quick.

he also took his first self portrait. i'm so proud.

here he is as THE KING. he made me watch Space Jam and we fell asleep watching The Lion King. good god man, i almost fell asleep just watching the frikkin' previews on that one.

the next morning, we were up bright and early for breakfast. we went to Denny's and i have to "thank" S2 and BIL2 for the (not so helpful) tips on what he likes for breakfast. let me tell you first that after he looked at the menu he said he didn't want "waffles" but the other kind was fine. i assumed he meant pancakes. we also showed him two different types of eggs. he picked overeasy. when our food came out, not only did he not eat his pancakes and tell me he didn't like eggs, but then stole MY bacon! and then i had to order him toast just so he'd have something in his belly! freak kid. after breakfast, i took him to the beach to play "explorer". he had fun climbing on the rocks, scaring the birds and gathering sticks "to make a fire".

of course, after he found the PERFECT stick, we drew his name in the sand.

after dora the explorer came down from his "beach high", we walked down the strand to check things out and do a little shopping. he felt like a big boy because he got to feed one of the carriage horses. he stopped short of letting the horse give him kisses, tho.

he also lost his christmas bracelet on the beach so i bought him a new one. the new one was black with $$$$$ signs all around it. i asked why he wanted that one since the only money in his pocket were all the quarters he stole from my change jar???? he replied with the cutest frikkin' grin you've ever seen.

this is my shaggy on the way home. we had a pretty busy day and a late nite before that. when we started to pack up he asked if he could stay with me again, tonite. melt my heart.

he loves me.

the rest of the weekend. well... shaggy just made my weekend.

strange magic

- elo

i think someone's trying to put the voodoo on me. a while back (couple of years ago) addie gave me a book called, financial peace by dave ramsey. i have to admit, i only thumbed through it and never actually read it. now... that book is coming at me from all sides.

seeing as we just bought a house and neither one of us are the best when it comes to saving, i thot about that book again. i saw it in my bookcase and decided i need to look and see what it had to offer. i mean, it helped addie out, i'm sure it could do the same for us. i still never picked it up.

two days ago, i was reading another blog. a friend of addie's wrote that she had just gone to a seminar that focused on that book and author and she was already taking steps to get her finances in order. i thot, "that's strange. i just thot about that book". i told HM about it and said that i needed to take it out of the bookcase and actually read it now.

yesterday, i had to work a little late. i was joking to a user about "missing oprah" because i had to stay and fix her pc. when i got home i turned on the tv and there was a family talking about giving their kids credit cards and how stupid that was. then another couple was on, talking about their wedding expenses and asking if they should postpone blah blah blah. there was this balding man on oprah's couch, giving advice. i only caught about 15 minutes of it and when oprah said buh-bye, she thanked DAVE RAMSEY for being on the show and sharing his advice and his book, FINANCIAL PEACE!

do you believe in signs? cuz i think this one just hit me on the head and rendered me unconscious. when i come out of my comatose state... i WILL take the book out of the bookcase and read it cover to cover!

no more champagne and the fireworks are through

- happy new year, abba

so new year's eve weekend was fun. addie came down and we had some friends over to HM's friday nite to play games. we played scene it-movie edition and later, name that tune. after everyone left, addie, HM and i played some more. it was 3:00 in the morning before we realized what time it was and immediately went to bed.

the next day was new year's eve. addie and i hung out, went shopping, and talked 'wedding talk'. she even convinced me to go into this mescan-looking wedding shop on the corner, but it was already closed.

seriously, none of us were up for going anywhere to bring in the new year. HM was hungover from the nite before and addie and i were just being lazy. we finally got our butts up and moving and made it to the party.

it was fun once we got there. all of our closest friends were there. yes, 40-50 of sistah sweet cheeks' closest friends.
i'm glad we went after all. i got to see people i don't see every day and some i haven't seen in a while.
afterwards, we came back and HM put all kinds of meat on the grill! we had brisket, turkey, chicken, pork loin, and more. addie made a really good ham the next day. i don't even like ham and i was tearing it up! she made all the other fixin's too. we had, black eyed peas, cabbage, cornbread, beer bread, pork and beans, and more.there was a lot more that happened, i'm sure. it's just not coming to me right now. it was a pleasant holiday overall. i'm just glad it's finally over.

happy new year

that's all i got for now. i'll update later, when i'm feeling better.
